Defence Force, SEPoS advance to quarters

Defence Force and BIG South East Port-of-Spain (SEPoS) advance to the main draw quarterfinals of the T&T Volleyball Federation Super League Men’s Championship Division after 3–1 wins on the weekend.  Playing at the Jean Pierre Complex, Mucurapo, Defence Force, which was demoted from the Premier Division at the end of last season, won 25–21, 25–17, 23–25, 25–23 to set up a quarterfinal with Technocrats, the East Zone top seeds.

SEPoS made the journey over to Scarborough Secondary and toppled Tobago 25–27, 25–23, 25–14, 25–23 and will now meet West Side Stars, the West Zone winners while Southern United Volleyball Academy (SUVA II) outlasted University of Southern Caribbean (USC) 3–2 at the Central Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Chaguanas on Monday to set up a last-eight meeting with its clubmates, SUVA I. In the other quarterfinal, the Zenith and Starlings playoff winner will face playoff North Zone winner Glamorgan. 

The women’s playoff served off on Monday night with Zenith whipping SUVA II 3–1 at Chaguanas for a quarterfinal encounter with SUVA I. The three remaining playoff matches feature, Tobago and West Side Stars II; USC against University of T&T (UTT) with the winners to meet West Side Stars I (West winner) and Glamorgan (North winner) in the quarters, respectively. SEPoS which was on a bye comes up against East winner, Technocrats in the remaining quarterfinal.
